WE DA FORCE
WE DA FORCE
We Da Force is a collective rallying cry for Black women navigating layoffs, broken career promises, and the isolation of corporate culture. We're reclaiming our narrative—turning pain into purpose, and setbacks into strength.
The LANDSCAPE
In mid-2025, nearly 300,000 Black women left or were pushed out of the U.S. labor force in just a few months—marking one of the most dramatic attrition rates on record.
The unemployment rate for Black women soared to approximately 6%, double that of their white counterparts.
Much of this job loss was tied to federal downsizing and dismantled DEI programs, stripping away stability and opportunity in roles where Black women were overrepresented
The economic fallout isn’t small: Black women exiting the labor market may have cost hundreds of billions in GDP—a loss the nation can’t afford.
The CURRENT CLIMATE
Black women, though chronically undercounted, are anchors of their workplaces, homes, and communities—and their growing absence signals structural breakdown.
Professionally, many face shrinking pipelines and a “pet-to-threat” arc: once valued, now eliminated—despite outperforming peers. The mental health toll is staggering, from imposter syndrome to burnout, with little rest or recognition.
Black women are not just part of the workforce—we are often the backbone of our economy, leading in labor force participation and driving critical services. These departures signal not just personal loss, but a collapse of economic and community resilience.
“What may feel like whispers in boardrooms have become roars in economic data,” says one analyst. “When Black women leave, the entire system falters.”
The MOVEMENT
We honor the lived reality of Black women experiencing corporate rejection and forced exits.
We spotlight the mental wellness, resilience, brilliance, and joy that persist—even through trauma.
We strategize, connect, and rise together—building pathways for leadership, healing, and economic mobility.
At We Da Force, we’re not waiting for recovery—we're forging it. We see the crisis. We’re trying to center solutions.
Join us in reclaiming our agency, reclaiming our voice, and challenging workplace ecosystems—because we are the force that sustains the nation’s economic and social fabric.
